Description

Back to the basics.

The Handyman is Cleona's first coffee that is both certified organic and Fair Trade. It comes from COMSA, a farmer-owned cooperative in Marcala, Honduras, started by a group of farmers who committed to growing organically long before it was the easy choice. Fair Trade premiums go straight back to their community, funding teachers' salaries and school supplies. No shortcuts, no additives. Just good soil, good work, and a fair price for the people who do it.

In the cup: caramel, milk chocolate, and pear. Bright acidity, sweet finish, medium body. An everyday Medium Roast coffee that never gets old.

The story behind The Handyman:

Before Cleona Coffee Roasters had a roasting room, it had Dean. The owner Matt's dad was one of the first people to believe in the business, selling bags of coffee to his coworkers back when CCR was little more than an idea and a small roaster.

When it came time to build out the roasting room, Dean showed up with his tools. He moved the door, patched the walls, hung drywall and FRP, installed the drop ceiling, and ran the ventilation for the roaster. Well over fifty hours of work, and not one complaint. Ask Matt and he will tell you plainly: CCR would not exist without his dad.

When Dean is not fixing something for us, you will find him in his garden. He grows things the old way, with patience and his hands in the dirt, and he does not need much more than that. So when we brought in our first organic, Fair Trade coffee, grown by farmers who work their land the same way, there was only one name for it.

The Handyman is our thank-you to Dean, and to everyone who builds something good without asking for credit.
